Belgian producers of flax and felt, Procotex, will promote new products at Yarn Expo 2005
Mountain Spinning Mills from India will join Yarn Expo for the first time in 2005

Buyers from China and Asia who are sourcing yarns and fibres for end-use in apparel and home textiles will find products from around the world at Yarn Expo 2005. Among the many overseas exhibitors joining the show this year will be the international producer of flax and felt, Procotex, as well as Mountain Spinning Mills, a leading Indian manufacturer of fine and super-fine cotton yarn. Exhibitors from Belgium, China, India, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and the Ukraine are also confirmed at the show, scheduled from
29 – 31 March 2005 in Beijing.

Between January and November 2004, China imported 656,355 tons of cotton yarn, an increase of more than 4 per cent year on year.
For that reason, Procotex of Belgium, one of the world’s best known producers of flax and felt, feels that attending the Yarn Expo will be beneficial in consolidating the relationships they have built with Chinese customers.

“For the last five years, China has been a booming market for linen yarns and fabrics. The country needs to import around 60,000 tons of flax fibres per year from Belgium or France. This is the main reason why Procotex, as a leading producer and exporter of flax fibres, wanted to be present at Yarn Expo 2005,” says Mr. Bruno Douchy of Procotex. "The show is an excellent way for us to promote our new developments to the Chinese market, make new business contacts, as well as reinforce the relationships we have built over the past few years.”

Mountain Spinning Mills, one of the leading mills in India agrees with Mr. Bruno Douchy on the advantages of exhibiting at Yarn Expo.

"We produce high quality fine and super-fine count cotton," says Mr. P. S. Mariappan, Executive Director for Mountain Spinning Mills. "Although this is our first participation in China, we look forward to meeting new clients from around the world, especially from the Far East region, which is one of our biggest markets."

Yarn Expo is scheduled shortly before Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics, the leading international trade fair for apparel fabrics and accessories in China’s north and north-east. Intertextile Beijing Apparel Fabrics will be held at the Beijing Exhibition Centre from 30 March – 1 April 2005. Also, running at the same period as Yarn Expo are China International Clothing and Accessories Fair (CHIC), Dessous China and the China Knitting Fair. These five shows held at the same period of time, make it easier for apparel manufacturers and other industry experts from China and overseas to visit all fairs.
